Starting out your own blog is an exciting opportunity. You can do it for pleasure, writing about stuff that just gets you excited, or you could pair that with an income and make money from your blog.
To make money, you want to get as many eyeballs on your website as possible, whether that be a blog or purely commercial site.
But writing first article for your blog or website isn’t as simple as just filling pages with whatever you want, with Google being the biggest player in the search engine market, you need to play to win over the algorithms.
Google’s algorithms decide what the best results are for certain search terms.
By creating high quality, relevant content, you are likely to include those keywords by default.
The problem is some people entering the world of blogging or website content write content that over sells those keywords and it ends up damaging their reputation by Google’s standards. So today we have a few tips and tricks for beginners to optimize their content in the best way possible.
Outsourcing
Once you’ve started your blog and have gained some momentum but you’re lacking some time, you can try outsourcing your content to get other writers to help write for you. Offer to host guest posts as most will pay you a small fee to get a link on your website.
Also, you can do this the other way round, if you would like more links to your website, you can pay writers a small fee to provide links back to you. You want these links as it works with common SEO methods that rate highly on Google.
Everybody wins!
User Experience
You blog or website should be easy to navigate, providing your visitors with a easy and positive experience that will keep them coming back.
Recently I went on a website that was raved about by a blog, however when I went on it, it was loading very slowly and some pages unresponsive.
Regardless of the quality of the content and services provided I didn’t bother to click any further because it was just too difficult to navigate around the page.
What your posts should include
Title: consider your title carefully as it should be relevant and descriptive, but not too long.
Keyword frequency: use keywords, but don’t overdo it. Google doesn’t like that.
Page links: link to other relevant sites, link to pages within your site, but avoid linking to irrelevant content as this will also harm your site.
